Made It!
Two days...
One thousand, eight hundred and fifty miles....
27 hours total driving....
Only one ticket
....
Made it to Bozeman Montana this evening! What a trip - the shark did everything it was asked and a whole lot more. I cruised for large empty stretches at between 90 and 100, and it never felt like I was going faster than 50. The idle was nice and steady at those speeds at around 2800 - 3000 rpm.
The handling was great. as expected. And these cars are more comfortable than the living room couch. No driving fatigue at all

Let the fuel run down too far, now my pump won't quit humming - any ideas or did I fry it? Fortunately, this was my last gas stop, so didn't drive that far before I noticed it. No humming until after I refilled and drove for awhile. Thoughts?
Need to fix the water leak under the dash on the passenger side - thank goodness only a little rain. The car is now safely tucked in the garage.
Tranny slipping and surging between 2d and 3d. Need to get that repaired. Hope I can find a good shop here.
Well, I'm glad the drive is done. I was a bit nervous, but it went well. Thanks for the notes and numbers guys, glad I didn't need to call. And thanks for the escort Mike - now it's your turn to drive out next summerNeed to fix the water leak under the dash on the passenger side - thank goodness only a little rain. Congrats on making the trip home. Sounds like tons of fun. I love driving my car upwards of 100 mph. She's so happy up there.
As for the fuel pump, I think you need a new filter and pump if you are worried about the noise. They can run for years making noise though.

No pics, unfortunately. I wish I had taken some, but this time I was in too much of a hurry. I took a bunch when I drove the Shelby across a few weeks ago.
As to the ticket, I was shakin and bakin all the way across Wisconsin, Minn, and N Dakota, and barely a chirp out of the detector. Then I get to MT where the reputation is they don't care how fast you go. So cruising along at 90+, the radar chirps, I start to slowly ease off, then before I could back off too far, bang, full blown radar. The clocked speed was 88, in a 75 mph zone. $40 ticket and 3 points on my PA license (that's not a problem, because PA won't count the points, and I'm getting a MT license soon anyway).
Glad to be home with it, now I can focus on driving these great roads while the weather holds out.

Just curious, how do you know PA won't count them and won't transfer them to MT?

Google: National Driver License Compact and verify that Montana and PA are not members. If they are, you will have it on your record for three years.
My guess is that they are both members. Your insurance will check anyway using a firm called Checkpoint. If it exists anywhere in this country, it will probably be discovered by your insurance company.

. You're only 400 miles from Spokane. Pop over next May for our Track Attack...always a good time, even if you don't run on the track
