So I leave you alone (cause you got gauze for skin) and you take another personal shot at me in a OT thread, as I predicted you would. Then I see you don't practice what you preach (look back to post 22 of this thread), by taking a shot at Ross. Everything in the quote above is what I find funny about you. First part contradicts your previous post, middle shifts blame, then you take a shot. I see this behavior in my seven years old that's why I ask the puberty question.

Staying On Topic: I met Paul and Joanne at a Natural Resources Def Council meeting just after I bought my '85 in '02. What a gentleman, we have lost a great and caring person. I only hope his example influences others. "We are such spendthrifts with our lives," he once told a reporter. "The trick of living is to slip on and off the planet with the least fuss you can muster . . . I just happen to think that in life we need to be a little like the farmer, who puts back into the soil what he takes out." I rather imagine he is resting in peace, at least at his own contribution. Thanks Paul.

I once got about 10 feet from Newman at a race at Daytona, think it was the 24 hours perhaps. I remember he was one of the drivers of the Wynn racing team. As they were in the garages he was sitting in his car waiting to take the track. All I could see thru the tinted windows was his helmet with a dark tinted face shield. Although most of the other drivers made themselves accessible to the public before the race, he was known to shy away, least that was the consensus. Perhaps because he'd get mobbed too much & he was trying to concentrate prior to race time. I'm sure his movie stardom alone caused enough attention and lack of privacy. Kudos to the likes of Newman & McQueen who seemed to love racing much more than making movies.

When I was something like 11 years old, I remember him racing a 1981 turbocharged 280ZX and winning in SCCA or something like that, from that moment I thought Paul Newman was awesome. At the time my family had the same car and eventually I got to own it and do alittle racing myself. The pictures of newman's race nissan blew my mind and how they differ from regular cars. It was like an awakening, an epiphany or something!
