Default Auto Zone Pep Boys Advanced Auto: All list the wrong tail light bulbs!!!

Why do all of these places list the incorrect bulbs for our cars? For one thing, they don't even fit in the sockets. For another, the brake light bulbs they list are single filament. How's that gonna work?! Argh.

For brake lights, I did find some that work: "Blazer" brand, # 2397. The Sylvania 1157LLs appear to fit, too, but they're higher wattage than OEM. Didn't want to start a tail light fire...

And good thing I didn't go to Frenzy today. It is flooding here in Baltimore. My driveway was a lake when I came back from Auto Zone (in my Saab, which is a good 6" higher off the ground than my shark). My shark would have, appropriately, needed to learn how to swim to get back into the garage!

Same applies for the rear wipers. Bunch of idiots working at the local autozone here.

I ordered all my new bulbs from Daniel Stern, perfect fit and a nice upgrade from stock without increasing wattage, so no melted plastic. He knows his stuff and has tons of information. Send him an email and you'll get the right stuff, no question.

r&s strauss has blister packs of the 'right' bulbs, but they want $4.99 for two (package says something special across the top, like 'for import cars' or something). They also have what appeared to be same size bulbs (for regular cars?) for $1.99, but different number, and of course they didn't have any wattage listed on the package. I went to the local privately owned parts place, they took a look at my old bulb, pulled two out of a draw, 99 cents a piece. sometimes it just takes an old guy; he looks at the part, asks what it's for, knows what it is, replaces it without added drama.

Advance Auto does carry a nice selection of fuzzy dice, and certain brands even add horsepower. I highly recommend them to any 928 owner.

Those dice would look nice with a chrome chain link steering wheel!

Just look for standard 1157 (or equiv) 21W/5W - you can find them anywhere.
