Maybe that would be a symptom one of you could recognize that will point me toward the culprit.

now I'm thinking its the LH brain.

When the battery is disconnected the brain looses its memory and when reconnected takes some time of engine running to adapt. Can you try the brain in another car?

Unfortunately I don't have access to one.

I probably will have to try to get one of John Speakes vendors to let me buy one with the contingency that if it turns out I didn't need it I can exchange it for credit on a new MAF...I think they would do that...maybe buy the MAF first then try the LH since the LH costs more.
That's why I'm trying to eliminate any other possibilities first. As much as I'd like to have a spare MAF or LH I really don't want to invest in one right now. If it is needed to fix the car then sure I'll buy one but I need to stop the financial bleeding on this project sometime soon!

Craig, your avatar name certainly seems appropriate on this deal. With no other guinea pig Sharks around, you might want to mail things like your LH and/or MAF to one of us for an "other car" test.
I'd be happy to help on that, as I'm sure others would as well.

Craig...can I send you a spare MAF? I think it works as it came off a running 28K mile car. I have my own idling issues but if this helps you out; it's yours.

Mike, thanks!
I'd love to try the spare MAF. Let me get the car back on the road today with the new fuel pump, filter and relays and if that doesn't fix things I'll send you a PM with my info and of course I'll pay for the shipping and take responsibility for the MAF if anything happens I'll replace it.

Aggravation, did you ever get your car all sorted out? Did you go with the 044 pump? How'd it workout?

Thanks

He hasn't been on here for over 6 months. A 044 pump should work fine for a supercharged 928 up to 600hp+. I have been running one for over a year now in my DD.
