Yes, they actually mention a nine-two-eight motor in the article! Wouldn't it be great if they did that and ran NASCAR? They may actually solve the 2/6 issue along with using matching rod caps. Wonder if they use the stock twin disc clutch with better H adjusters...

Reason: more humor
Ok, as much as I would love to see Porsche get back into serious racing I think Nascar would be the wrong place for it. Their are plenty of other places to develop their technology which are better suited for high performance/high end cars.
Seems all the other manufacturers are jumping the Nascar ship with the car of tomorrow idea (all cars are identical on the outside), and Porsche thinks its a good idea?
Porsche would never run in NASCAR. You HAVE to run a pushrod V8 and solid rear axle. OHC isn't an option. They wouldn't waste the money to build an engine that's pushrod and carburated.
True .."pushrod V8 and solid rear axle. OHC isn't an option. They wouldn't waste the money to build an engine that's pushrod and carburated." ... But Toyota did just that they designed a "new" 50 year old V-8 just to go play !! But the worlds largest auto maker can do anything they want
The only way Toyota was able to enter NASCAR is because they actually build the cars in the US. So not only would they have to develop a pushrod V8, they would also have to build an assembly plant here.
I'll go out on a limb and say Porsche has no plans on building the Panamera in the USA.
