a 47 mile each way commute would do it - I could imagine that - its really what the car was designed to do.

It would cost you what ... about $6000 just in gas - ouch!

28k miles in 14 months is pedestrian... on something other than a 928. It has to stay out of the shop long enough to rack up that many miles. (sorry, I'm a little bitter right now).

28k miles over 14 months... figure an average of 22 working days per month, and only driving to/from work =

14*22 = 308 days of commuting

28,000 miles/308 days = roughly 91 miles a day. I do that now... almost a 100 actually. But in a Saab 9-5 Aero.

I've put over 30,000 on my truck in the last 11 months - only 1,000 on the 928 in the last year. It would be a much nicer drive with the 928 but unfortunately the 928 doesn't hold as much lumber as the truck.

Actually it is technically possible to put 28,000 miles on a 928 in a little over a week. 28,000 miles div by 170MPH div by 24 hours in a day works out to just under one week. Figure in refueling and getting up to speed and it would take a little over a week.

Back in 1987 I put 72,000 miles on a 1300cc Ford Escort in 12 months or 6000 miles/month (Company car they paid the bills - my construction site at the time was 250 miles long) . How I wish I could have done those miles in a fully funded 928.

So 28000 miles in 14 months is only 2000 miles/month - given I have done 500 miles in 4 hours in a 928 including fuel stops thats only 16 hours driving per month. No problemo !!!!
