Default 928 parts in 959

Hi

Looks like the 959 has the same airfilter 'top' as the 959.
The PS also looks the same

Its a bit contra-flow though - also looks a little different to me - assume its a dual MAF dual throttle-body implementation mounted to the side plenums somewhere...?

I pulled my driver seat the other day on the '87. There is a sticker on the seat bracket with 959 written in ink.

So are the RDK sensors 928 parts that were used on the 959, or were they developed for the 959 and trickled down to the 928 to justify the cost of development?

These are standard sport seats. Exactly the same as found on 928, 944, 968 and 911 of the same era. The only difference is the design of the inserts. Under the skin, they are all exactly the same frames, capable of taking any combination of options, either electrical or manual.

I think pressure sensors showed up on the 959 first. At least, that's how I remember it from the literature at the time the 959 came out. The magazines made a big deal about all the new technology in the car, including the tire pressure sensors.

Well the 959 was in production from 1986 - 1989... the RDK only arrived in the 928 in 1989...

In PET, the PSD is not listed as an assembly, so I can neither support nor deny your claim, but the sub-components seem to mostly have 928 numbers.
