^^^ I was looking for these pictures - it's the only Gemballa / Völl I remembered.
BUT: I compared these pictures with the brochure I have, and am a bit confuzed.
In the brochure, the exterior color is the same, and the wipers indicate it is a LHD model. However, the passenger side of the dash seems to have been retouched. The interior, is a combination of blue and grey, with much more blue than shown in the above pictures. Of course, someone might have changed the leather - but why?
So, maybe there were two of them. But I doubt they sold a significant number of them.
PS: The brochure says the top is fully automatic.

Nicole,
The first one in your pics is the winner. Send more pics of that car if you have them. Wide body cab! NICE! You have a GREAT selection of 928 convertible pics. Some of them were just to ugly for me to save though! YUCK! In fact only a handful of them were even reasonably attractive and usually only w/ the top DOWN! YOWZA!

Sorry, James, I don't seem to have any other pictures of that red one. I just remember seeing it on eBay a few years ago, and I believe the seller claimed it had been owned by MC Hammer (who used to live one town over from me).
Here is a somewhat similar one, supposedly made by Conversion Techniques of Emeryville, CA. Note that the body kit looks kind of like a Koenig, but it has a few subtle but unusual lines...

Black is nice. I like the classic look of the blue or purple one notsure of the color. Reminds me of a 993 for some reason. I think it is the rounded trunk.

Yesterday I went to take a look (sheer curiosity - I'm not selling my S4 after all the work I've put into her!) at a LHD Gemballa convertible on sale at a garage just a few miles from me.
This isn't place to discuss condition etc (though seller asking almost $40,000!), but I was struck at how the convertible form makes the 928 (which still looks fresh in my view) appear even more modern. In fact the Gemballa panels transform the look and to me it looked a lot like a Mercedes SL - those strakes at bottom of doors suggested that. Also reminds me of Mazda RX7 rotary.

Like the black and red also....if you are going to go wild, go all the way.
BTW, hate the white one with the quarter glass still in it.

Perry, I could not agree more! Well said. Sterling...get on it buddy...you really NEED at least one more 928 man! You have been into them as long as I have and you are WAY behind on 928 count bro'! LOL! Of course you have probably spent as much as I have on all of mine on your one!
