Keith,

I am coming down for the DE on the 18th, and can bring my modified wrench to do the job.

However to give you a description of how I did it.

I removed the bolt holding the arm down, this was EASY on 5 of the 6. Once the arm is off you just push in one side of the plug and the opposite side pushes out allowing you to easily pull the plug out.

The one that I had an issue with was iirc rear upper passenger side one. I cut the box end off a 10mm wrench and smoothed up the cut area so that the box end was the same all the way around, I then welded it onto the shaft of the wrench I cut it off of. But so that the shaft covered one side of the box, I then welded it back to the wrench that way. I also welded a bolt onto the open end of the wrench to give me more length on the end of the wrench to be able to reach the bolt easily.

Wow Colin...that's some wrench! I took a 2 ended offset wrench and cut the 11mm side off and then torched the angle on the 10mm side and bent it down more to give a greater angle to reach behind the heads. This allowed me to clear the firewall. Worked like a charm.

Weird though, I replaced all 4 of the cam seals at the back. Two were plugs and two were the caps with sealing rings. I tried to order the sealing rings, but they were not available. I just got two more plugs and new retention arms in place of the caps/rings.

WSM was the best way to go. Just removed the cam covers and bridges. Followed the guide and it is done.

Thanks for the help you guys. I should have done this as a preventative thing before I got the engine back together in this car. It just never ran since I had owned it and wanted to clean it up and such, get it running and see what problems I had afterwards. No worries, engine runs well now and I think I have taken care of all the leaks.
