Whatever floats your boat. Whatever tunes your piano. Whatever yanks your crank. It's not my car, you can put a 100 amp buss bar in for all I care. Wrapping tape around it should be good for a few months - maybe.

Yes, the fuse will be going away and will hopefully be replaced with the proper rheostat the next time I take things apart to try and track down what's causing the odometer to fail.
