Default Preferred Exhaust??

In driving my beast around the block this evening, I can smell/hear a small exhaust and cat leak. I was curious what the preferred exhaust vendor is for a 1980 US model. I've seen the Borla kits for this model. There is always the route of buying performance mufflers and cats, then getting someone to bend the tubes and weld it up. The exhaust I have in place today is not stock. There is some sort of aftermarket [steel, no stainless] muffler with a Megs tip. The Megs tip is too wide for the body skirts. At idle, there is enough natural shake in the pipe that it taps the fender skirts. [poor planning on the part of a previous owner].

Any thoughts/advice?

I'm told this is a Borla rmb. It is pretty refined on my the GTS. However, someone else thought it was loud. You prob need to get to a shark gathering and hear one for yourself.

I have a Borla on my 82. I love the sound and the look. Would highly recommend.
