Default Oil pressure gauga at 5+ when ign. on ?

Hi

My oil pressure gauge reads 5+ when i turn on the ignition, without starting the engine.
When i start the engine, the oil pressure still reads 5+ @ every rpm.

With the ignition off, the gauge reads 0.

So do i have a problem with the oil pressure sender ? where is it located ?

Mads

(sorry atbout the spelling it the headline, cant figure out how to edit)

Oil pressure sender dead or less likely wired backwards.

check that the sender has not the electrical connector come of it , if it has it will read full scale.
