Default ITS ALIVE!!!! My Monster is ALIVE!!!!!

Well my Ninjas,
I started the monster up after a year of procrastination. It went and got a new battery from Advance Auto (PO had one in it and it had done the job) and after a few cranks it runs. It ran like crap at first then leveled out quite a bit but not to my satisfaction. I also started pissing fuel from the Fuel Rail End Cap but not where the gauge is screwed in but End Cap to rail. A little umpf and it stopped right away. Shows about 30 psi. I hear sucking air so I think I have a vacuum leak but I won't mess with it for now.
Attached is a video for your dining and dancing pleasure:

Congratulations Angel. This day has been a long time coming.

Its hard to tell what it sounds like from the video. Is that thumping sound coming from your air pump?

Run some Techron fuel injector cleaner through it. Add one bottle to a 1/4 tank or less of gas. Run it for a while. Watch and listen.
Good luck

when you do the techron addition remember that lots of short trip are better than one or long ones this lets the techron have a chance to soak into the various parts instead of being burned up in the fuel, you might consider an oil change as well after the techron has run its course

Stan is right as usual. The techron soak in the injector while the car is sitting. Short runs flushes out the injectors and the process repeats.

Congrats seems like your night out did you good!
Try SeaFoam from discount Auto it works a little better and faster and follow up with your Chevron cleaner.

THANKS GUYS!!!
Shawn, the thumping sound is from the engine. It more like a romp, romp, romp. Like when you put a modified cam in. Its not as bad as it was when it first started.

I put a can of Seafoam in the tank with a some more gas. There wasn't much in the there to start with. I used the gas from the car to fill the lawn mower & weedwacker cans.I'd siphon enough to fill the 1 gal mower can & the 1/2 gal weed wacker can.

Stan, I just put brand new oil in it & I didn't use techtron but do you still suggest the oil change?

The oil change is for after you run the seafoam or techron through the system. It will get rid of whatever impuities it flushes into the oil and there will be some chemicals left over from the treatment that will end up in the oil as well. It's best to get rid of these instead of driving around using lubricating oil that has deteriorated. I would wait until you finish flushing the system and then change the oil.

Give us a run down of what you did to the engine please.

Not a lot really. Replaced the rotted fuel injector lines, refinished the intake, Spark plugs, belts, Motor Mounts, Oil Pan Gasket. Its just sat so long.

The car is gonna sit for a few days. I'm leaving on business for Cali for the next three day. I'm gonna be in Moorpark, CA so if any Rennlisters are near, have your people call my people and we'll do lunch.
I'll play with it when I get back.

Congrats Angel!! I know that it sounded sweet just to hear it again, even if it was a bit rough! Get it ready in time for our Sharks at Daytona event Oct. 10th-12th so you can bring it & show it off in our 928 display in the infield during the OktoberFast PCA races!
