Hmm. So start at the fuel pump, see if it pumps fuel. If it does, go forward from there until you find where it blocks. Careful of course, fire estinguisher nearby.

Mike...........is fuel coming out of the pump?

If yes do as Aryan suggests and follow the path; pump to filter to fuel line that ends along the passenger side fender across the passenger valve cover to the fuel damper thats at the front of the engine.

Is there a intank filter or a intank pump perhaps.................remember the car came from Japan so its essentially a Euro.

I just looked closer at your pic Mike and compared it to the one on Tonys site............you have more wires which I presume are for the intank pump.............can you confirm?

If so check for power at the intank pump; if there is and its not running you have your prob as
I believe without the primary pump you'll see no fuel.

Thanks Aryan and Malcolm. I do indeed have an intank pump as they have both been replaced. I have the originals in a box of spare parts.

Tomorrow I'll start at the tank and work from there...she will run tomorrow!

If both have been replaced can it be that accidently the polarity has been switched?

Hey Aryan...I think they are wired correctly. I know that as I almost drowned in gas when I was going up the line searching for the source of the blockage.

I had fuel into the engine bay but not past the hard line. I checked at the damper and nothing. WTF? So I tried to blow whatever was in there out with compressed air. It wouldn't budge. I look further and find this in the female fitting of the rubber line where it connects to the hard line.

The place I got the engine from capped all the open lines including the fuel line. This cap was so small I didn't even see it. It took some digging to get it out but I think she'll start...well, as soon as I determine why my coolant is leaking out at the front passenger side.

I think I'll name her "Christine".

Thanks everybody for your ideas. The good thing was I got to understand how the ignition and fuel systems work.

Drowning in gas isn't fun.................does she run?

ps...........in my Nortel career we had a wave solder machine we called Christine, she burnt the plant real good........not fun when there's a factory full of folks and there's a lone manager @ 4am.

There's many hoses on the passenger side for coolant.............a loose clamp?

did you replace the old fuel lines?? there are 4 of them that need to be replaced in the engine compartment. Glad you found the fuel stoppage. Check the hose clamps for the coolant leak

I did...got a kit from Roger and there all leak free...from the filter to the return line. The system is much easier to test for leaks when there is fuel in it

Yes Malcolm...she does run! Boy, was that fun when she started up. Turned out to another electrically associated problem preventing her from starting. The lower right yellow plug into the CE panel had lost its mounting tab so although it appeared in was in, it wasn't all the way in. Noticed that when I was double checking all the relays, fuses and plug-ins on the panel. I'm going to have to find a way to hold that in???

The leak was a loose drain plug. Just so you know, these are brittle after 20 years and don't require much torque to break

It runs...sort of...idles good to start then has a surging hunting idle where she eventually stalls. Vacuum related I figure. If I can find that tiny red plug I should be able to sort out those vacuum lines...I hope.

Again, thanks to all...Another week or so putting back the interior and I hope to have her on the road.
