Leon do a search on this, a few shark owners have restored their seats successfully.

Leon,

I agree "it is scary", but I've restored several Porsche and MB seats using the lacquer thinner to remove old "dye/paint", then treated them thoroughly with "Soffener" (from www.colorplus.com ), followed by the correct color dye from Color Plus. The end result looks like new and maintains that appearance for several years. Good luck with your project, however you proceed.
I have an acquaintance who is following that procedure with New Old Stock 25 year old Connolly leather to be used on a classic Bugatti. He's having more success than he expected!!

PS: The seats shown in the avatar of my GTS were restored that way. They were covered with mold and mildew when I removed them from a wrecked car that had been in a junk yard with the driver's side window half way down for ~2 years!!!!!
