Default New Interior Product!!

Porsche 928 Floor Insulation Padding Set. Front and/or Rear Deck

This is set of floor insulating pads for all Porsche 928s. They are trimmed to fit and go under the factory carpet in the front driver and passenger floor and rear cargo deck.
They are made of 1/2 thick vinyl nitrile closed cell foam rubber. Unlike the factory foam this vinyl nitrile is closed cell and will not absorb water, oil, or antifreeze.
This means, unlike the factory supplied pads, they can be washed with soap and water, wiped dry and immediately put back in place.

The material is also resistant to mildew so it won't smell like the factory pads. Black in color, 1/2 inch thick, is very light about 9 ounces per pad, closed cell, and FAA approved for aircraft bulkhead sound and heat insulation.

Front set $42
Rear deck set $42
Front and rear set $75

Discount code "sharkowner" no quotes gets you a $10.00 discount. Enter in the Discount Password or Coupon box on the shopping cart page.

Rob good work! Think you could make something for the spare tire cover???? The early cars have that NASTY black foam that just dissolves over time! The later cars (all my GTS's, but not sure if that is when it started) have this really nice foam on the back of that plastic cover...

I would get at least 2 (Blue82, and S4) and maybe 4 ('81 and '84) if you could come up with something for that...

Thanks for developing 928 stuff for all of us! It is great to see such a robust aftermarket community these days! It is WAY better today than when I got my first 928 back in '96! There has never been a better time to own a 928 than TODAY!!!

Russ,

NOT THAT PART...

What I am looking for is the foam that goes on the UNDERSIDE of the spare tire cover...

Thanks very much!

I think the 1/4 inch material will work for the spare cover. If not, I have some 1/8. I'll do some measuring & check it out.

Rob-- Original stuff under the cover is 15-18mm, at least on mine.

Rob,
Bob is right, that stuff on the back side of the spare tire covers is pretty thick...nearly 3/4" when new...

Rob,

Also for 84, am interested in front, back and rear hatch area.

What do you think about installing it directly against metal floor, as all tar covering has been removed?

Really!!?? Hmm,, I thought it was a thin layer of foam. It was missing on mine.

The material I use for the floor pads has some density to it. Used under the spare cover, it won't compress enough to allow the cover to easily go under the metal tabs.
I don't think it needs to be 18MM. I'll try some variations when I get a chance.

I've never run across them on the rear floor. But I can certainly design a set.

They will fit directly on the floor, but I wouldn't glue them in place. You may want to take them out to clean them one day.
