Default Potential power issue

I say potential because of what my butt-o-meter is telling me. Ill just describe my cars power band and see what people think of it. At 1500 rpm or so it doesnt pull very hard at WOT and between 2200 and 3000 it ramps up pretty hard and stays flat and I thought this was normal untill I got to 5k rpm and from like 4800- 6000 it seems to pull really strong compared to the rest. Now this could be my butt playing tricks and if anyone in the area would like a ride or potentially to drive it I would be all for it. I have looked around doing general research and found some things that may pose such a problem like the maf. I don't know if its original so if that is a likely I will pull it out and see how old it looks. Any suggestions or links I may not have found to similar issues would be appreciated!

Year/engine?

If 85-86 32V, what you describe is fairly normal with a stock EZF (ignition) chip.

Hey porKen, I say some sort of resistor mod you can do to advance the timing that you talked about in another posting. Is this near or comparable to say an authority chip, only brand I know off the top of my head, or the like? If My power band is normal and I can reap most of the rewards of a good chip for the cost of a resistor, well that sells itself...

The EZ-F'r tweak makes more power than a AA/eBay chip.

You have to disconnect the WOT switch input into the EZ-F (see part 2), along with the 5 or 20 K ohm resistor (+3° or +5°, see part 3).

(Part 2)
(Part 3)

At some point here soon, I'm going to burn an EZ-F chip so I won't need the external tweaks.

My '86.5 with X-pipe, no cats, hot dyno day, stock EZ-F chip +5°/WOT disco'd versus clone EZ-F chip, both with stock LH chip, best runs of each.

We can fit an X pipe and then "shark tune" it for you.
That will wake it up big time 8>)

I hear a lot about this sharktune setup. In stock form is having the car tuned with this any advantage over an authority chip or the like? I assume its sharktuned on a dyno or on the road right?
