In retrospect, I wish I had kept it running and fixed one little thing at a time instead of diving in. I got a '87 S4 and put all my time and money into fixing that up and lost interest in the '78. Buyer will need a game plan. I would first sort out the fuel system, then the intake, the water pump/timing belt, vacuum lines, water hoses and electrical. Then the A/C, etc. Getting it back together will take time and perseverance but definitely doable.

It is a pile of parts with no way to start, drive, test trans or anything else. A potential black hole waiting to suck up large amounts of time and money.

To be a car it needs to be able to run and be driven. It is just a failed project.
What early car doesn't really need all that off and freshened up? Its $500 car and $2500 parts.

Early petrol blue, love it!
Good luck with sellinG.
If the car was stored dry and vermin free an d parts list is fair , then seems likea neat project. Some of us have started with less for more! Seeing it would be important.

Nothing purchased yet. No response to my inquiries yet. I also need to find garage space... I thought I had a line on a place to work on this one slower than the Cab. I want to build this one with my son....

Looks like and sounds like a hell of a deal, but after working through getting to me in Tucson at this time, I have to pass. If I was in Dallas, it would be in my garage... too bad to...

Bummer.

Hey Steve,
Why don't you split up the sale of the new replacement parts from the car? Sell the two seperately.

Congrats on the sale.. I really wish you had been closer... That will be one nice 928 when it's back together... Was the buyer a lister (or known by the Texas crew?).
