More Clarkson on the Porsche 928
"By rights, I should hate the 928. It was the first press test car I ever crashed. And I used one to go and see my dad the day before he died. I also disliked the dreadful ride quality in later models. And yet, even today, when one grumbles by, my head does the full Linda Blair. It is, I think, one of the best-looking cars ever made."

I read in one of the Sunday papers that the rights to Top Gear was sold to an American TV company... Clarkson didn't want to head it up but will appear in it a fair bit at the same time. No May or Hammond though. Real shame, one of the best programs on tv, any channel. I guess we'll get it on one of the Sky channels at some stage, but it just won't be the same without the 3 lads.

I'm a Brit by birth and an American by choice.
If the USA gets TopGear we can say good bye to the best auto show on TV.
RIP - Top Gear.

There's going to be a Murican version of TG.
Haven't heard BBC killing their highly popular show.
Think Clarkson is consultant to the US show.

I watch Top Gear all the time on Direct TV via the BBC America channel, or something like that, I have the DVR set to record every episode. I absolutely love it.
I'll watch the American version too but I sure hope they don't change a thing about the real show, it is perfect!

Who would have ever guessed that we had enough collective internet bandwidth to take down a website?
Owing to essential maintenance, the Top Gear website will be unavailable for several hours; normal service will be resumed by morning.

There was a cool Porsche quote in the episode where Jay Leno cameo's with his 650hp vette, Jay said something along the lines of --- you watch these shows where people are taking their cars to the track it's not the Ferraris and Lambo's, it's the Corvettes and the Porsches, because they're fast AND reliable.

With more info coming every day Top Gear USA sounds much better than when news first break. Adam Carolla and two other US gearheads will host it. There are many news relating to it at Final gear archives:
