Default Adjusting CIS temporarily with CO screw?

Not a 928, but a V8 using CIS and it's more or less the same, and MB guys don't know anything about tuning. So, the way my CIS is set up the warm up regulator is tricked into thinking it's always a cold engine. It's still a little lean though (modified engine). Until I get around to taking the warm up regulator apart and pushing it back out and slowly tapping it back in with a pressure gauge hooked up etc., can I temporarily richen things up by adjusting the CO adjustment screw by the fuel distributor (allowing idle to be rich), or does this not adjust mixture under throttle at all?
