Default I think its time to sell my supercharged S4 (UK car)

As much as it grieves me to do this I think the time has come to sell my Supercharged S4. I just don't get chance to drive it anymore as I have 2 children, one of 3 years and one 3 months and the child seats won't fit correctly with lap belts making my days out quite selfish - just me! I've not quite set a price yet, just a ball park figure that i'd like to achieve of around £12,000 if its realistic. Tell me what you think based on the description and limited pictures below. Before anyone points it out i've used Ryan Perellas ebay ad as a basic template to list information, hope you don't mind? Car is not officially on the market yet as I'm bound to have missed things that I will add over the next week or so. Thanks for any input!

Vehicle description:

Overall 8.5/10? (not sure how ratings work, so just my opinion!)Usual stone chips to the front bumper, some minor surface bubbling to the offside front wing around the rear of the wheel arch area. Minor bubbling to one small area of the front scuttle panel. No damage to any glass, lights, spoilers etc. New door window scrapers just fitted.

Dash and pod are perfect and no interior panels are warped, or damaged. Tool kit is 100% complete including jack, compressor and spare tyre with new luggage cover fitted. All interior lights work including warning indicators and aircon works! A full set of keys including rear compartment box and a full set of driver manuals? (the ones that came with the car listing service history etc) Car also comes with original Blaupunkt London keycard stereo and 10 disc boot mount CD player. New boot and bonnet gas struts fitted. No vacuum leaks and all service recommendations completed.

Bert,

That's one really nice car!

There has been some discussion here lately about selling a car with the SC installed. You might consider changing it all back to stock and selling the SC unit as a complete kit separately. IMHO, you will include more people in your potential list of buyers for each and will net more total (some people want an SC for their car, and I think more people would want a stock S4 in good condition than would want an SCed S4 that someone else is selling as a package.

Just my .02.

Good luck.

If I had ready cash available right now, I'd definitely be interested.

I'd sell it as a complete car. There were 3000 928's imported into Britain and there is a ready supply of nice cars, as well as not so nice ones. However, a SC'd 928 is a rare thing. The bonus of a road ready and installed setup is not to be underestimated. Who did the work over here?

I have a 928, but when funds allow, if I saw a SC'd one for sale I'd be after it like a shot.

Advertise it at 928.org and in Classic and Sportscar. I'd be very surprised if it didn't shift very quickly.

All the work was completed by myself at no expense spared over a 6 month (all photographed) period due to the amount of 'while you're at it' jobs I ended up doing, not to mention the amount of cleaning up and replacing anything that was remotely 'not right' so to speak...... I know of a couple of other 928 motorsport kits in the UK, but much like yourself i'd have bought one ready installed if i'd realised the amount of work involved, not to mention the import duties and tax! I've read all the threads about converting back to stock, but it's a lot of time and effort for me. I'm hoping there is someone out there who'd like a fully sorted car without the time, money and effort that i've put into it as it's ready to go. I'll even throw in the flywheel lock, kempf tool and car covers!

That's a very nice looking car. Fast too!

Good luck with the sale. I'll see if I can talk DrNick into buying it off of you. He's over here visiting his sailboat. I took him for a quick ride in my SC'd beast last night... He was all smiles when we got back!

What is your asking price?

I didn't see one listed anywhere in the description.

Hi Randy, asking price in first paragraph. I'm hoping to achieve around the £12,000 mark, but I am open to offers as i think this might be the first UK car sold on the open market with this kit fitted so I have no way of knowing what it's worth.

$23k seems like a very, very fair price to me for a SC S4 with 66k miles (and clean as a whistle too!).

Bert, sorry to hear you're selling. Maybe sit on it a little while - you don't want to regret it later on?

That being said, if you decide to sell the SC separately, let me know..

Good luck!

My brother really liked mine when he was out - I think he just bought something, but I'll drop him a line anyway (he's up in Ayr)

Giving up that car has got to hurt. But I'm sure your kids are more precious.

Beautiful car!!! Best of luck to you with the outcome of your decisions.

One more thought: I sold my old 280z when my kids were small and I have regretted it for YEARS. If there's anyway you can keep it and you're still on the fence, think about the future you trying to find a well sorted S4 sometime down the road...
