Default A/C Flushing suggestions

Just purchased a Griffiths kit with a new compressor, hoses and o-rings. I am looking for advice from anyone who has performed an A/C flush. Did you use an aerosol form or liquid with a flushing canister? I have access to shop air.

Secondly, is it reasonable for me to perform the evacuation and recharge myself? Namely, I would purchase gauges and an electric vacuum compressor and then perform the refill with small cans. So, are small cans acceptable?

It's getting hot here in DC!

Most of the home-DIY flushing systems' success is based on how thoroughly you flus vs how thoroughly you need to flush. If you are doing it to get the old oil out, they are likely fine. If you are trying to sweep oil-contaminated compressor debris out of lines and the condenser, it's a bigger challenge. You MUST get all the debris out, and all the flush chemicals/solvent need to be gone without residue. I confess that I've flushed with xylene, and followed that with acetone for residue removal. But that was not for a compressor bomb, just a cleaning as part of a system refurb.

For the evacuate and charge, it's not economically sound to buy a good vacuum pump for just one car. Take the car to a pro and let them evacuate and charge it for you after you do all the hard work.

My two sense.
