82 alarm problem
Alarm got me for the second time so its coming out....
i saw alans posts about jumping z4 to z6 but after looking at my diagrams if i do that i will be pulling the 12 volts by way of Z6 -H8 -11R -gen light and resister-3R
-H7 and finally to line 15
Z1 and Z6 are jumped inside the alarm unit at term 61 that looks like the feed to the gen charge light off of the regulator
so here is what i think i need to do ...please someone (ALAN) yell at me if im wrong or going to let the smoke out
jump Z1 and Z6 for dash and grab 12v to feed Z4 from fuse 13 (spare) hot side
fuse 13 is from line 15 that is switched by the key
thanks Jeff

No - Just remove the Z plug & link Z4 to Z6...
The factory wiring diagram is confusing on an 82 - look at an 84 instead - this is the the more standard implementation for this module (I believe both modules are exactly same - just different terminal labels).
The charge light indicator (61) is the exciter circuit - on later models this alarm terminal is actually connected directly to Ignition (15) which is more obvious - but on early models the fuel pump replay pre-engages on ignition and doesn't need an immediate on signal to start the engine.
On your model year I believe Z1 & Z6 are connected together on the CE panel - you can verify - (this is not typical of most model years).
As soon as the generator initiates the The D+ generator & exciter circuit (both terminals (61)) will go to system voltage - this is what is switched to Z4 to keep the fuel pump running.

Thank you alan for reply
Before bed last night i jumped Z4 to Z6 car runs .....but no volt gauge and charge light is on
i will check tonight if Z1 and Z6 are jumped at panel i know they are at alarm unit i pullled the cover off
so if i dont find them jumped i need to connect Z1 Z4 Z6 all together?
Thanks again,
Jeff

If anyone needs this info on my 1982 i needed to only jump Z1 to Z6
If i do anything with Z4 my volt gauge goes to 0 and gen light goes on and doesnt run well
I also unpluged the alarm unit that is behind the glove box didnt like 12v still going to it on the other plug
