Default Rough start andidle

This is probably a really stupid question, but I have a stock 1984 928S that hasn't been driven in 2 years. It is really rough idling. I have changed the oil and that is about it. The air filter was changed 3 years ago, the fuel filter was changed 4 years ago, and plugs and wires were about 6 - 8 years ago.

Could the rough idling be the gas that is left in the car from 2 years ago? Or could it possibly be something else that needs to be changed? I am going to change plugs and wires when I get some more time. Thank you for any help.

Mark, eliminate the "old Gas" issue. Willing to bet that is the main reason, I'd add a injector cleaner with a fresh full tank of high test. Hope its a quick and easy fix!

You need to give it a proper Italian tune up. If you can, drain the old gas out and use it for your lawnmower or really cool explosions in the back yard. Then, get some fresh gas and rev the crap out of it.

Your plugs may be fouled now and need to be changed. If you do decide to change your plugs, try to stay with Bosch copper.

Finally, plan to attend the Sharks In Hell, Michigan event on August 2. Click my signature for more details.
