Default Have I got the correct thermostat o-ring?

Decided to make the car fluid tight and sort out the leaking crossover...... question is do i have the correct stat o-ring - genuine porsche part (I even gave them the part no. to be sure, but it looks completely different). Original profile is flat? New one is round. Inner diameter is slightly larger on new ring. Or am i just being paranoid and when the ring is squashed down it is OK. Before anyone asks yes I am doing all the crossover o-rings and the oil filler neck. Intake still in place and no sheared bolts.......but whoever said it could be wiggled out..... took me an hour of swearing and wiggling to completely remove! Then it rained.

Looks right to me. They get squished over time.

BTW, Davek9 here on R'list told me there is a TSB for the coolant crossover o-rings that are for teh portion that mates to the head. In pet it just shows the o-ring, but in the TSB it says to also use a paper (well paper-like) gasket too.

IIRC the paper gasket was for MY 90+. I could be wrong though.

It's been covered a couple of times in the previous t-stat o-ring threads.

I've found them when taking apart >89s and never on <90. I've not used the paper gaskets unless they were there when everything came apart, with one exception. So far no booms. I never seen a leak from the sides of the bridge. It's always the big *****-o-ring to the waterpump that leaks.

Damn. I can no longer find the TSB for this. I seem to recall that the use of the paper gaskets started with a particular engine serial number. I also remember a thread on this wherein someone posted the title of the TSB/Info doc.

Crap.
