Thanks to Calrcm, and his excellent scanning abilities, take this link to the article, and when you select a pic, use the little magnifying glass to in the upper right to blow the pic up, and just pan the article to where you want with your mouse.. .Thanks.

Just read the article from the link, thanks for posting it. I still look forward to picking up a copy for myself to keep. Good exposure for 928s. Your two are first class all the way Spencer, we know you're very proud of them!

What's up with the placement for this pic?

Subtle hint that the car was an evolutionary dead end at Porsche?

Cool article and nice cars Spencer!

Spencer have you done the ball cup on the 5spd car? I know you're trying to keep everything stock but maybe even going with a short shifter will help improve the shifting.

I've driven both auto and 5spd and was surprised to read that the writer preferred the auto! Old linkage parts, even if they haven't been used can still make for a sloppy and vague shifter. Although I backtrack, I've never driven an early OB 5spd so maybe they're really vague?

The 80 only has 10k miles, it is as fresh as a daisy, and to be honest I would have to say the Bob Chapman the author was not an authority on 928's , this was certainly part of his learning curve, I find the shifting just fine, it is different from the later cars, and certainly a 944 or 993 etc, but I like it and it is crisp.. but the dogleg and then the closeness of gears takes some getting used to that is all.. So stepping right into the car with no history on it, I can see his commentary making sense...
