Default manifold flappy

hi, i have a 89gt and have just taken the manifold of for painting, i have taken it for shot blasting and they wanted the butterfly to be taken out. so my question is how do you get it out? i tried to undo the 2 screws but they wont move. i have new bearing to go back in so does this butterfly have to come out to do this?

Have a look here....

You may want to leave the old bearings inplace whilst the mainfold is painted in order to keep the bearing surfaces on the manifold nice and clean.

The other bloke must have loosened them for you

Would be interested to know who's going to do the powdercoating and what's the cost?

i reckon he did, anyway as to cost .I took it back down today and it has taken them nearly 2 hours to shot blast and also chemically strip of old coating it was a pig to do, so they say! £45 cash job for that, its now at powder coaters and they said about £20-30 hope to get it back monday.

its a good idea to paint/powder coat the cam and intake at the same time so they will match
