Default VERY EARLY 928!!

Sorry, I dont know how to post the link. On Kansas City Craigslist is 928 #21.
Low miles, appears to be mint, has the checkerboard interior. Red exterior with 5sp, saddle/black interior. Wish I knew how to put up link, this looks like a great early car.

Yea what is that 928S thing about? Also the trim around the stereo is all messed up and the center vents are weird. Looks like 5 digits on the odo showing numbers so mileage must be in the teens at least. Interior looks good other than the above mentioned items.

Nice car but certainly some issues that need to be cleared up and even with that taken care of it is no $50k car FOR SURE!

I hope the day comes that we all look back and say I could have bought one .... or if only I had kept ... the XKE roadster or the XK150 would be nice to have again and I really should have bought the Allard ...

There are a few things I notice that are not period correct:

1. The already mentioned spoilers

2. The rub strips / side moldings - to the best of my knowledge they did not become available until later in the model year.

3. Someone needs to verify that the shifter boot and shifter are authentic for the model year. I know that this has been changed a few times from pre-production photo cars to early production to later production to 91GT and later.

4. Did the early rear seat backs fold down as far as these? Never seen that before.

It has the correct early center vents, though.

It would be most interesting to know the mileage on this car. Either way, his price is way out of line, in my humble little opinion...

The shifter looks to have about a foot cut out off of it? The rear seats do NOT fold down that far, something is a miss with that. Does the leather/vinyl look original? Looks aftermarket to me....

Nicole,

I think most of the seats will go that far if you go past the stop...I would have thought that to be the same from the beginning... The Pasha seats you can see look quite good...of course they didn't show the drivers seat which would be the worn out one! Wonder why they missed that one???

I also love the circa 1986 3rd brake light. And that's not the factory exhaust, and the rubber gaskets between the bumper covers and the bodywork have been painted (repair?), and it also looks like it is sitting too low (although that could be caused by the angle of the camera, but it looks suspiciously low to me). I guess I underpaid by about $45,000 if this is worth $50...
