Its a track car,

tear out the facotry wiring and fuel injection system and go with a painless wiring system with some form of standalone EFI.

That is my vote :P

Or hook up a sharktuner with wideband to see if you can find the problem.

You don't know how close I am to that Colin ...

I did get back to it yesterday and swapped out the other coil (just because)..it fired up but still appears to be missing..definitely not 4 cyl mode..but can maybe be one or two cylinders... I am leaning towards the wires at this point..will test that out this week and check the distributor caps/rotors as well as all the other ignition related side of things...then it will be on to the fuel side...

Hey Tom,

I have no real issues at all with the wiring in my car,

But at the same time I am seriously considering it.

I would be removing the center console and putting in a custom formed piece of aluminum with toggle switches and fuses right there. Nice and simple with very little wiring in the car.

Ken Osage did this in one of his track cars..simple switches for all the basic necessities..since mine is track with minimal street, I will go that route eventually...you should see the mass of wires Ken pulled out of his...just like Mark A....lots of crap and weight.

Probably grab an aftermarket fuse/relay block to replace the old style 82 fuse panel in mine..

Hi Tom,
I have come across a couple of 928s recently that misbehaved when hot. It tuned out to be the flywheel speed sensor that was faulty.

After reading all the discussion on Stan's GT and possible MAF issues I figured I would give that a shot before digging deeper. Went back to the shop today and brought the MAF from my GT (recently rebuilt). I put it in the car and it seemed to run way better. Shut it off and restarted several times and seemed to run better overall....Let it run for a while to warm up..(till rad fan kicked on) and it ran good.
I will be sending the MAF out to get rebuilt (can't hurt) and for now the car seems to run better..time will tell if that was the issue all along...
