Great write up. Having read your book about last years run and then listening to it live and now reading this Pikes Peak lives up to its reputation. What a wild event and the fact that it still goes on is amazing.
If you are not going to do a book this year it would be great to see something along the same line W/ the video you have and maybe video from other racers. I would definitely be interested in it and would gladly pay for it. Just a thought.

Carl,

Great write-up. I really have to get that book about last year's efforts.

Glad you're OK and the car is good. I'm really looking forward to checking out the video.

I guess you found a good replacement for your faulty intercom system in time or you wouldn't have heard the low key, 'Nice save.'.

Classic.

Great write up Carl. You'll be tellin your grandkids about your Pikes Peak 928 adventures for certain!

I still say the 928ers out that way need to coordinate a 928 gathering event around this race. It'd be a great event to show 928 strength & lend you support. Besides, just think if those spectators who gathered around when you broke down were fellow 928ers. Heck, they'd have helped ya replace half of whats under the hood & had ya back on the course in no time!! Would of looked like a pit crew at a NASCAR race! There definitely would have been lots of parts cars around for anything you'd of needed too! Or at least lots of good beer & fellowship to drown your sorrows in if they couldn't have help resolve the problem quickly. Heck if anybody could relate to 928 mechanical woes, it'd be us fellow 928ers right?

So if it wouldn't have resulted in this scenario for you,......

then it certainly would have resulted in this one........

Carl,

Great write up and glad everyone on the team was safe!

As to the fuse, I have seen on a lot of race prepped cars where the fuse panel is re-located for easier visibility, is yours still in the factory location? I am guessing with the bare-bones condition of yours it would be easy to move them somewhere for easier visibility and accessibility.

Again, great effort and thanks for showing it for us 928 owners.
