Every GM vehicle (including the Vette's) that I've seen (I'll admit I haven't seen every engine).
Every current Audi (not sure on the R8, but I would bet that it does).
My friends 2008 Mercedes has a plastic manifold, so does every modern BMW I've seen.
The Boxster S in my garage, I'm sure the 911 uses a similar design.
Doesn't retain the heat like a metal manifold, very cheap to make once the mold is created, light weight etc....
Ok, maybe some of them are not "plastic" but some newer composite material that looks, feels an aweful lot like plastic
[QUOTE][Carl, do you plan to sell different stage (I, II, III) head/cam configurations as Phil had offered on his web page??/QUOTE]
I plan to walk before I run with this. We already do offer 3-angle valve jobs and porting and polishing of heads - been doing it for years. Check my website under "Service"
But, where Phil believed in welded and re-ground cams, I don't. So I am in discussions with two cam manufacturers now to offer one or two choices of new performance cams.
It may take me a while to get those out... the cash drawer is a little thin right now (what with this purchase, plus the Pikes Peak expense, plus a new impeller I am producing and patenting) the cams may have to wait a few months. Development takes start-up capital.
In the meantime - I will be offering a couple engines built from what just came in. Just listed this 5.4L motor on eBay today:
This 5.4 motor is a departure from the usual configuration of Mahle pistons and Alusil Sunnen honed cylinders. Has anyone put time on a 928 engine built like this?
I'm sorry Carl, but I would like to know what you have. My father lost tens of thousands of dollars in this mess and 2 engines. One spare block, and a 5.8l GTS with the works done to it. I have receipts that prove what had been purchased. Maybe we can work something out, but in light of 2+ years of dealing with this and losing it all, I would appreciate some sort of cooperation. If you'd like to keep it private, I completely understand. The cell phone is the best way to reach me.
I do hope the acquisition of these parts will prove profitable, and more importantly, helpful for the 928 community.
Barry, sorry to hear about your problems and I mean no offense however I struggle to see how in the hell this is now Carl's issue to make right. And I also can not believe you wouldn't just call him rather than drag out into the open here.

+1, I'm sure you've gotten screwed, but Carl didn't buy the business or the warranties, just the parts. He bought them from the financial backers, not the principal. This is not a related issue.
If the goods were sent to 928 Dev to be worked on and 928 Dev subsequently sold those goods as part of the business assets, if Barry can prove title to those assets, then he should be able to reclaim them from Carl as Carl does not have proper title to them. Carl would then need to settle with 928 Dev.
However, if the business (other than a sole proprietorship) was in bankruptcy, and it sounds like maybe it was, and had no appreciable bank debt or other creditors, any proceeds from the sales of the assets would be split among its investors according to the class and number of shares, in which case Barry should get a statement from 928 Dev regarding the proceeds from the sale of its assets.
However, if you gave "a guy" some money or goods to be used in the development of a business, and he never formalized the business (i.e. sole proprietorship) and he went belly up, then your cash/equipment is gone. Caveat Emptor.
