Boy behind the counter - Cool hat... do you own a "Porsh"

Me - I have a "Por-sha" 928. I'm doing a little interior work on it.

Boy - Really, cool. I like the old ones... the "Cressidas." <noddong head>

Me - I think you mean "Carrera."

Boy - No, um mmmm.... Cressida... they're awesome.

Me - <nodding>... uh huh....

When I was in high school one of my friends had a 924 Turbo and he went about bragging about it. One day he told me about it and I was like oh i have a 928 S4 and hes like cool is that the one with the British engine?? I just said what?? He told me how his car had the american Engine because it was a 4 cylinder and the 924 was engineered during the 1930s because of the great depression how there wasn't enough gas. I just nodded and said right he told me my car had a originally a 6 cylinder but they put the British V8 in it cause they had more power. After about 5 minutes I couldn't take listening to this guy anymore and I couldn't wait to leave I just had to ask if he knew what the stuggart on the porsche badge on the hood meant and he told me it was stolen and i just thought why doesnt this surprise me

2 quick stories - #1 In England in the late 70's a young lady was at a garage in an old Austin Mini. She had 2 empty oil ctnrs and was working on a third. I asked her if she needed a hand and replied no, her boyfriend told her to fill it up with oil if the dipstick showed she was low. She had it mixed up with a radiator and was trying to fill it up to the bottom of the opening on the valve cover. #2 My own 20 year old daughter drove her Saturn from her home in Edmonton to Winnipeg (800 miles) in 90 degree weather, arrived early a.m. hours. Next morning I pulled her car to the back to change the oil. Car rode like a tractor, felt every pebble on the road. Check the tire pressures - both front tires went off my dial guage (over 75 lbs. each). When I asked her about it, she said she thought it was like her last car and had to add air every week. Evidently did not use the air guage I gave her. And, yes, she is blonde, but she's daddy's little girl!
