You want to talk about clueless?

I come out of the auto store last week and get in the 928, only to have someone poke there head in to ask...

him - "What year is that?"

me - "1982"

him - "Wow, they really changed in a short amount of time."

Now i am confused, since we all know that all the way to 82...well, you know.

me - "..."

him - "I have an 80"

me - "An 80 what?"

him - "944" ..... WOW, I almost laughed out loud at the guy.

me - "That explains it, this is a 928, not a 944. It has a v8... and various other differences" -- i was trying to be nice and get out of there.

him - "Oh."

never thought i would run into someone who actually owned a Porsche that was that clueless. and that would actually mistake a 928 for a 944.

On my way to a auto-x this last Saturday I am going through town and get to the last stop light before getting on the freeway. This guy pulls up next to me and signals to roll down the passenger window. "Man that thing sounds great! What ya do put a V8 in that thing?" I tell him it's a factory Porsche 302 V8. We b.s. until the light turns green then I light em up. blue smoke in first, second gear (had the victor racers on and they were cold) I am still amazed at how many people think I put a "V8" in the car.

When I lived in Pittsburgh, after the snow began to fall, saw a nice new Z-28 with snow chains, on the front tires!!

But I still get asked on the 928, engine's in the back right? Flat 6 right? lol

I enjoy my ability to be smug and arrogant about my 928 knowledge, compared to the general public.

It kind of balances out my ignorance, when discussing medical issues with my bro-in-law, the Dr.

Charlie,

Based on the cars in your garage, if your bro-in-law is a GP/FP/IM/Ped, you probably make more money than he does so just be happy with what you know that is keeping you on the happy side of the fence.

I have called on doctors as a sales rep for more than 20 years now and it is STUNNING how many of them are leaving the business now because it just does not pay anymore. Sure specialist still BANK, but generalists are getting KILLED and I understand CA is as bad or worse than the rest of the country thanks to Kiaser (sure I misspelled that)...

Funny what the people drive who will try to race with you on the unrestricted autobahn.
I just sit a decent distance behind them until they reach their terminal top speed, give some more gas & float on by.

I think what is really scary, is that they are allowed to vote and we can't stop them from reproducing more of their kind.

I expect there are things that I depend on that I have no knowledge of, but offhand I can't think of what it might be... Somebody point it out, so I can spend time learning about it today please
