Rear Seat Delete OB Stereo Mod
Well, a couple of months back I decided to redo the stereo system. I had most of the compoents but certain things were bothering me like:
- Needed quicker access to fuel pump area
- Needed better access to amplifier settings and controls
- Needed better air flow for amplifier
- More consistent/professional look
- Better power and ground wiring
Additional requirements included:
- Wanted to make sure my new design still allowed for a set of clubs in the trunk or a couple of suit cases, gym bag etc for travel.
- Still able to push seats and recline back (90% reclinability)
So here's what I came up with ...
Two Orion Amplifiers (One is HCCA 1 OHM 800 Watts)
Two MB Quart 10s
4 Pioneer 4" Two-Ways
2 3-way Component setups for the rear delete area
1 2.4 farad Cap
Alpine MP3 Head Unit
Upgraded the OEM positive battery connector with Phoenix Gold Multi-In/Out 4 Connector
Next Step is to finish off the door speakers -
After that - I'm done...move on to refinishing the dash...

Wow, what's holding your windows in?
That setup must really CRANK!
Honestly, it's a bit much for my taste, but it does suit all of the requirements on your list and it's your car so if you like it, I say ENJOY.

I saw Brad's work in person at the Taj Ma Garaj outing in Dayton last weekend and it was really tastefully done with a lot of attention to detail. I wish I could do that kind of work. Maybe someday.

Oh yeah!! Headers, straight pipes and RMB give me the best of both worlds!!
Andy thanks for the kind words!! However, I'm envious of the fantastic electronic speed avoidance gadgets that you have!!

LOL - thanks ade! A small slit in the carpet where a pre-cut circle in the wood allows me to pull up the panel to expose the battery/spare tire area!
