Okay, so this question doesn't seem to come up often, so I must be missing the obvious.
The engine is in situ, and I've got the TB cover off, but I can't see how to get a 17mm wrench on the tensioner adjuster bolt and locknut.
Some of you guys are talking about it taking twenty minutes to do this job, so I don't figure you're pulling off the accessory belts.
It looks like I've got a straight line of sight through the airpump bracket on the tensioner, but there's not much space to work. Would a long 17mm gear wrench be needed for that?
I can get through the belts, but it looks like a stubby 17mm gear wrench is needed there.
Or is there some other magical tool I need?
Oh yeah...both the bolt and locking nut are 17mm?
Any suggestions are appreciated!

My personal favorite tool is a 4" long stubby 3/8 drive ratchet - the head is about 1cm deep and is the same diameter as the drive end of the smallest 3/8" sockets. It's also completely round so when assembled it's akin to having welded a short handle onto the back of a socket. I can fit it over the tensioner bolt easily. It's made (according to the MAC tools truck guy) for motorcycle and other small engine repair, but it's been invaluable working on anything with tight clearances which seems to be almost anything on the 928
It's actually smaller than some 1/4" drive ratchets, but doesn't require that you keep a separate set of sockets around to use with a tiny wrench. I highly recommend one.
I just use a normal 17mm box end for the locknut.

Cool, thanks guys.
I'll go grab a 17mm gear wrench for the locknut, and I'll borrow the stubby 17mm--along with the belt tension tool and cam timing tool--tomorrow, Andrew. Thanks a bunch.
Boy, what a PITA.
Does the TB warning light (intermittent, usu. under aggressive throttle), mean that I have a failing tensioner? It has been almost four years since last belt change and three years since last retension.
