So I decided to replace my good working waterpump with a rebuilt unit. After a few thousand miles... guess what.... the f... sh$t is leaking. The old waterpump is going back on the car, hopefully there is no block damage.

I have in the past been criticized because I don't automatically change the water pump with a timing belt change...

I believe I'll follow Wally's lead on WP replacement. Mine was done 20k ago and I'll be doing TB in 1.5 years.

Wally, my father always said to replace the waterpump when doing a tb change. Boy was he wrong, lol. If the waterpump is good, Leave It Alone! I learned my lesson the hard way.

It's one of those damned if you do damned if you don't things.

Half the time the WP gets changed and doesn't need it, the other half it doesn't get changed but does need it.

My luck whichever one I choose will be the wrong one
