Auto transmission - broken spring !!!

Default Auto transmission - broken spring !!!

I was doing a AT filter and fluid change tonight and I saw that small broken spring

Does any one know what it does?

It returns the bowden cable, the one attached to your throttle linkage. Needs to be repaired for proper shifting. It fits into the notch on the arm directly in front of it resting on the solonoid.
