Seven days in a week
My car is not "weak." But it is not for everybody, even if they are flush.
What I have found: Buyers are finicky. There are MANY reasons for this. They work hard for their money. Sophisticated, or not, they probably know that pcars can be problematic, esp 20-yr-old cars, and if they are here, they are trying to reduce the many variables a much as they can. If they are attracted to Porsche, they are by definition demanding, even if their budget is tight.
Cars.com is another place to look.

Have you TRIED listing your car on Ebay? Seriously, you should EASILY get $25K for your GTS.
I was working on my cars yesterday and my neighbor offered to buy the S4 from me once i get it cleaned up and finished. That was convenient. I havent broken it to him yet what kind of maintanence these cars can require, so we will see how that goes. But my clean GT had him sold for months, now an S4 comes along with an automatic and he's all in!
I do have Rennlist to thank for finding me the S4. Its funny, i was complaining that this car was getting too much exposure and i was sick of reading about it. There were 2 threads on the car for probably 2 weeks and finally i just said, F-it! I'll buy it so no one will talk about it anymore!

[QUOTE=VehiGAZ;5515414]My big problem with buying/selling a shark on eBay is the time limit involved - even on a 10-day auction, I don't really have enough time to arrange a trip out to Phoenix or Iowa or wherever to check out a listed car, nor do I want to pay the full-full-full-price airfare I'll have to pay by booking 3 days in advance. I think that ends up limiting the buyer pool and forcing a discount in the closing price because of the risks involved. QUOTE]
Here is my point of view after having used ebay to sell a car. Before selling my car I went into the ebay transaction knowing full well that I probably wouldn't sell the car at my asking price. As others have noted, ebay gets tons of exposure but it also gets people chasing after killer deals (including dealers). My goal was to follow other successful adds get a huge amount of exposure in a very short period of time. I was able to get over 3000 different hits on my ad in 10 days. The bidding ended lower than my reserve but on the last day I received three emails from potential buyers which were interested and all asked my reserve. One happened to be local (first time user too) that wanted to see the car. After seeing it he wanted to have one other person look at it and he then made an offer which was very close to my reserve so within 15 days the car was sold. This person owned a 928 in the past so he knew what he was looking for and did not PPI the car.
So don't discount ebay as a means of selling a car and allowing the buyer a proper amount of time. But definitely do yourself a favor and make the effort to properly advertise the car with pictures and description.

Craigslist has been working great for me for my revolving door car and motorcycles.

Ryan: YES! I have. I won't bore you with the details of kind of people that call. Please don't tell me how easy it is or what I should get.

Kinda funny, but I look here all of the time for a 928 up for sale close by. I agree. It is a tough place to sell. But if I were ever to buy a 928 I certainly hope it's from here. Most folks here are very up front.
I've only owned 944's and 951's, but I've wanted a 928 for about 10 years now! The good news is that they are starting to move into my price range. Even though I don't have one yet, this is my favorite forum on Rennlist.

Got a call from a colleague Sunday aft about a white 89 S4, 85K mi, $9500 on a local no-name dealer lot.
Checked it out at 8 am Monday, complete but extremely oily beneath motor, much like my 84.
Called at 4pm, it was sold. Interesting.

Do I have to say this again?
Selling a 928 here is like trying to sell crayons to Crayola. Sure they will buy them, but only if you are almost giving them away.
