My wife would kill me but I am very tempted by that car, would look great next to the '83 and she could drive it. Very nice. Can you share the insurance story? I'm also wondering about the rear logo, looks a little off, if you'll pardon me for asking.

Its probably easier to email/pm him direct and get a phone number to call him if your seriously interested. You might find pieces of the story if you search by his name. But as has been noted, it is long and goes back a few years. It would be easier relayed over the phone.

Ah, the case of the missing injector clips from our SoCal mechanic. Marc and I were test driving on 101 when an #8 injector pushed out of the fuel rail and ignited. Got it out but not after wiring and MAF damage. Fire is covered. After a rebuild, #8 cylinder cracked because the machine shop had broke their honing tool in it and had to repair it. I piggy-backed the fire and got a complete short block from Germany and another rebuild. This one done right. State Farm and DEVEK had it appraised at 55k.

The block, crank, rods, pistons and cams are stock. The heads were massively opened, intake and exhaust and top of head reworked for a little less compression. My understanding is less than 10 to 1. All of the work "final" rebuild work was done by Marc Thomas. He spent over a year working on this motor... well elapsed time anyway ;-)
