Default ECONO plug wires ?

Just got a set today and trying to get them on quick. I should learn...I can do nothing quick on this car! Anyway I must be missing something. Both ends of each new red wire has a threaded stud. That works perfect for the spark plug end of the wire. The distributor end has the old collar type. How do I retro fit this? Are other type boots available at the parts store??? I'm lost.

You crimp on the correct end? Or am I not understanding the problem?

The red is the new wire...the black is the old. As you can see there are different connectors....How do I make the red wire work?

I ran into the exact same issue and found the wire set on the car was not OEM-Beru. I ended up purchasing a complete Beru set. It was expensive but installed cleanly within 30 minutes.

Whats odd is the boot says "Beru" on it. I thought maybe it was something different. Maybe it is.

Roger has the less expensive wires that do screw into the caps.

I've got them on both of mine and they work great, at 1/3 the cost of Berus.

Sean he is trying to stick a male end into a male end, his beru rubber is the problem. New wires with male ends would just make it a three some...with no females.

Dean,

You need one of these knuckleheads to send you their old wires with the correct OEM type screw-on disturbutor cap ends (or just send you the dist. ends).

I did the econo wires the week before SITM and not no problems, but both my ends were original and the wires screwed right in.

Come on you pack rats, choke up some used ignition wire ends.....

Yep...common problem, you need different ends or 366$. I had the same exact problem. Mine had been replaced with an aftermarket set where that the distributor end did not have the screw socket!
