As expected the shark tuner worked pefectly.
OK, good !

I would be very interested to know how you managed to use 42# injectors with LH2.2 Sharktuner ?

So it would seem that I mainly have to overcome the fact that the fuel rails aren't the same? I wouldn't be able to use my existing fuel rail and just have some kind of modified rubber connector between the "barbed" fuel rail of my engine and the later S4-style injector?

I'm discovering that the 84 euros specifically are in a kind of black hole as far as modifying and updating!

I have an 84 Euro too, and I'm currently using 36# Ford-style Accel injectors from Doctor Injector (www.docinjector.com) (but with a little bit of boost ). Just make sure they are high impedance so they don't burn out your computers!

(ask me how I know )

What Doctor Injector did for me was remove the plastic O-ring area and turn it into a barbed fitting, and they work just fine. They did the mod free of charge. If you do call, call the Federal Way branch, and tell Russ that Kevin and Leslie from Fair Lawn, NJ sent you.

They ran about $485 a set, if Leslie has a brain.

Mark, I could put those extra 84 Euro injectors to good use.

I have done this conversion for my euro 5.0 and will also use it on my 5.4 litre 2 valve, I also built a custom intake manifold for the 5.4 litre as the stock one will not flow enough air, it just depends on how you want to go about all of this? I have some flange plates that you then weld the new or old intake tubes too. This way the system is exactly the same as the S4 that is no rubber hoses on the injectors. The euro does use bigger injectors, so did I, the power run we did shows perfect air fuel. The air fuel is not perfect on cruise though, it is too rich.

When I mean perfect I mean from 12.5 to 12.8 that is perfect for an old system in my books. If I get time I can post some pics, I can also sell you a set of flange plates as I have a spare set, they will be $300 if anybody wants them.

Ahhhh, that's the thread I was looking for! (search and I aren't on good terms apparently).

I do actually have a rising rate FPRR, but I was holding off installing it until I eliminate other possible rough running issues. I wonder if that would help bridge the gap to higher pressure injectors. Much to think about here, it at least appears there are possibilities now!

O.K just took the pics of the fuel rail, injectors and new manifold, this manifold was made from mandrels and internally ground away and is half the weight of the original. Also the runner length and volumes is slightly better than the factory ones.

These manifolds supports a theoretical maximum hp of 440 whereas my custom euro manifolds would only support 370 to 380 depending on which runner was tested. These runners were the euro S runners modified to accept the LH injectors. and had other flow increasing work done to them. So these runners will outflow a S2 style euro runner, it is also about 2 inches shorter which is better for top end power.

We had a recent dyno day and we used the Dyno Dynamics dyno known as the heartbreaker. A automatic GTS went directly infront of me, it did 240 hp at the wheels, my 5.0 litre euro did 295 hp at the wheels. On the same brand of dyno I have previously have done 311 hp. I did make two changes, these may have cost me that power. BTW The Porsche club to which I am a member uses 1.32 as the flywheel factor for conversion.

I am making some changes to rectify my rich running with the generous help of John Speake. This engine was purely a stop gap measure before the 2V stroker comes. You can get some quick times out of these cars and engines, with sub 5 seconds nought to sixty times and sub 13 seconds over the 1/4 mile.

Now some pics

Manifold for the 5.4 litre or 327 CI

Fuel rail and new 4 hole injectors

In this pic you can see the flange plate, this manifold's runners are slightly shorter than the euro S, the engine's red line is set at 6720 rpm I want peak power at about 6600 rpm. Hoping for 350 to 360 rwhp on the same dyno that I have got 311 hp on with the 5.0 litre, the heads on that engine flowed 480 hp at max cam lift, the 5.4 litre flows 550 hp at max cam lift. If I went to a drilled crank and fitted either better rod bolts or new rods with arp bolts I would be happy to spin it to 7100 rpm as the valvetrain can handle that.

Greg

Also I have a set of euro injectors that have been flowed and fitted with new caps and filters for sale at $200 plus post.

So what is the conclusion. Ford 4 hole injector will fit the Euro LH 16V runner. Have to use the S4 injector rail or customer fuel rail.
Is this right?

I don't want to get myself into trouble but I believe they will fit but they are the wrong flow rate for the stock euro. The euro injectors are 24 pound from memory. However they do seem to have the right fitting to go into the rail, that is very shallow. You will need an aftermarket controller or Sharktuner to get the right air fuel ratio with the lesser flowing ford injectors. You may also need to bump up the fuel pressure.

But doesn't Accel offer 30lbs and Kevin found 37lbs. The rail is no problem but does the injector tip fit the euro runner?
Thanks

I thought stock Euro injectors were 19#?? Either way, the fuels rails will need to be changed or the top of the injector changed

Here is a big list of injectors and flow rates.

For the S4 they use the D5B ford/bosch lots of info here
