I have no idea why you didn't contact the previous Ebay bidders who bid more than $6500 (I bid $6928) to get the owner a better price. I would have bid more but did not think I had a chance of hitting the reserve.

Maybe the owner is making Euro's now and doesn't care about a couple thousand American pesos.

Good Luck Jeremy

Maybe he did. People are very skittish about these second chance offers. They may have a hard time accepting the fact that the person dropping out was not a shill. IF that were the case, you might feel ALL the shill bids should be cnx, not just the last one. At these prices, that might be short sighted of the second bidder, but it is a possible scenario.

Thanks guys...without the support of Rennlist (YOU) I wouldn't even dream of owning another one but the knowledge and helpful spirit of this forum gives me confidence to tackle almost any issue. My only complaint with my 82 is acceleration so my next step was going to be one of these with a supercharger it just happened a little sooner than I expected but you have to strike while the irons hot! Unless I have TBF or blow a timing belt I figure it will be pretty hard to get hurt on this one! Thanks Carl!

No kidding! Wow.

I've said it before, and I'll keep saying, 928's are the sports/GT car buy of the decade. And rl is the place to spot the deals. It's a good thing I don't have more disposable cash or I'd be cornering the market on 928's.

And porsche928guy congrats on the purchase and good luck with it!

This just goes to show. A supercharger kit is worth a hell of alot more in the box than in a car. From all the S/C'd cars I've seen sold, it seems that they really never fetch any more than a non S/C'd car would in similar condition. It's a shame for the seller.

Carl, what ever happened to that 79 S/C car you sold. You know, the one where the truck driver took it on Mr. Toads Wild Ride and punched a hole in the floor pan. That was a nice little car.

This is so true. If I ever pull the trigger and SC my car and decide to sell later, it won't be sold as a supercharged car. It will come off, go in a box, and go on RL/E-bay as two items for sale. This is a better way to recoup some of your money.

I'm excited to be getting the car. Going up on Thursday and driving it home on Friday. Sounds like it is up to the trip. I have a friend who has a supercharged 05 Cobra with quite a few mods. VERY fast car and he drives it like its stolen. I already have an offer to line them up. I told him he wouldn't have much of a problem walking away from me BUT I have about $40,000 less in my car, its a hell of a lot classier and you don't see one around every corner!

I very much agree with Ed that these cars are the best bang for the buck out there IF you work on them yourself. The only other car that I think even comes close are the 840 and 850 BMWs. Those are a great looking car and are really under-valued right now.

In my data base I have 92 contacts in the Oklahoma 74XXX Zip codes 20 or so look like shops/repair many of the others are car owners over the last 7 years or so and may have sold their 928. There are still probably 15,000 or so 928s registered in the US (the Porsche PCNA numbers are now a few years old) .

Do you keep in touch with any of these contacts? I've been thinking of having monthly GTG's maybe here in Oklahoma. Maybe you could send out a generic email for a roll call. Jason

There are part of our 50,000 or so customer contact files and yes many order parts from us ....that is why we exist. However all information is confidential.

Jim I was not meaning send me their info I don't know any of the owners and was wondering if you might pass something along to them if we decided to get something going. How many of these customers are active? Any idea? That would give us an idea of how many still own the 928. I don't think an email from you asking about interest in getting together in Oklahoma one Saturday would be viewed as a problem especially if they've asked for email from 928 int. In the email you could give them the option of contacting me via email or telephone. Just an idea I've been thinking about. WE really need some 928 action up here in Oklahoma like the DFW guys have.
