Default Steering Wheel Question

I bought a Momo steering wheel which came with (what I believe is a) Momo hub adapter. It was advertised as a direct replacement for all 77-89 928 steering wheels. I wanted to replace the stock steering wheel on my 84 928S.

I tried to install the new wheel today, but discovered the new hub adapter does not fit the spline of the steering shaft in the car.

Just curious....are the steering shafts different for 928s of other model years (i.e., between 77-89 and 90-95)?

Hi

I have a Momo copy wheel on mine (with a square bottom) and a genuine MOMO hub...which DOES fit...

I think they sent you the wrong adapter hub....

Pic of part of wheel...

All the best Brett

Brett and Ed,

Thanks for your help. I had just received a confirmation from the seller that the original hub was intended for the later-year 928s with airbags (i.e., which the smaller diameter splines). I was be getting a hub replacement which is actually intended for my non-airbag wheel. Thanks again!
