Default Bolts for Engine Stand

To bolt the engine to the engine stand I know there are two bolts that screw into the engine and the other two bolts you just put a nut on them. The two that bolt into the engine are 12mm X 1.5 X 120mm. What do I need for the size of the other two? Would 4 of these 12mm X 1.5 X 120mm bolts work and just get 2 nuts for the two that don't screw into the engine?

no you need a bit longer. I got mine at NAPA -- You want to ensure the thread on the bolts you put into the block is correct.

The bolts used to bolt up your bell housing are not long enough. I had to order these (in metric) but others have found them at Ace hardware. The threading is not very common (1.5) but do make sure you get the correct threads you don't want to strip out your block. I used 90mm for the bolts into the engine, on my stand they sink about 1 1/4" into the block.

(from bolt depot 12mm x 1.5 x 90 Steel grade 8.8 fine thread)

Any bolt w/nut that is long enough will work for the other 2 supports.

The other two bolts where any long bolt and nut would do, do those need to be a high grade steel as well? I was looking at getting a grade 10 steel for the ones that bolt into the bell housing.

Mine are stamped BPB. I got them from home depot with nuts and some nice wide pan washers. 4inch in length
The upper bolts i sused from the engine/bellhousing connection, i just added nice wide washer to distribute the load. The lower ones are the 4 inch bolts menstion above BPB.

here..i added a pic

For the bolts that go screw into the bell housing you can temporarily use two bolts from the front lower control arm. They are the right length and pitch! M12 x 1.5 x 100mm

The other bolts I used black steel, pretty easy to find. Can't remember the dimensions but you don't need to go metric.

I just went through this a few months ago. I searched for the bolts using the PET Catalog search function in adobe!
