Default RMB fitting

I fitted RMB to my 89 S4; previously she was a good starter (no gas req) now I have to tease the throttle to coax her in to life also she seems a little bit wooley on acceleration, co incidence ? or some tuning req when removing the back box?

Well, sound strange, but I don't see how a RMB can influence starting and acceleration. Take her for a spririted drive..see if it helps...

I dont know much about much but could it be that the cars brain/maf etc has to recalibrate itself? If so a good run might sort it

Ok..... I adapted my starting technique to add a little throttle on start up, just feathering until a steady idle; I am susspecting lower fuel pressure due to partially blocked fuel filter so was going to change today when..... car reluctant to start after school drop off (other car 2000 land cruiser failed to start!) then 1/2 mile down the road the engine quits, no drama , just nothing. All electrics ok, (did have strange fuel quantity reading on first start, I knew it was 3/4 but showed 1/4 rapidly reducing to fuel light on when we reached the school)The engine cranked partially firing no happy rumble. Waiting for the recovery truck I try a restart bingo! Not trusting the b@#$%^d any further today(100 deg at 10 am) I drive her on to the truck and go home in the slow lane. Now, could the output of the battery feature anywhere in this? (they only last one year here and it's time may be up )
Any ideas???

Could it be an MAF problem? When mine was out I was burning gas at about 5 mpg with very little power output.

Sounds like a leaky injector or two to me or that the fuel pressure drops (leaks back into the tank). Check the fuel pressure before start up first, then go from there.

Don't think its the MAF , power is good gas milage is normal ( fuel dissapeared from the gauge not the tank) I have changed the fuel filter, lots of black bits on the filter side ( the tank was full of black gunge and barely ran when I got her, changed both pumps and filter then as well as cleaning out the tank) two years on I guess the filter was shot. Will check the fuel pressure though and change the battery.
