If your #1 goal is to avoid changing spark plugs for the next 150,000 miles or so, go with the quad platnum.
Otherwise copper is the best.

I would run WR6DC plugs, but that is must me (and a few other people)

Thx.
First off, welcome. Make sure you read the FAQ above.

General thinking is that they don't seem to work very well. The standard single electrode, copper core plugs seem to work best, but are getting tougher to find.

I agree, standard copper single electrode is best if you (wisely) plan to pull them every couple of years to see what's up. Platinum multi-electrode are great for V-6 minivans that might get a plug change every 80-100k, that is if you think they won't seize and strip the head in that time. I won't leave any plug in that long even if it'd last. I use platinum single-electrode plugs in my A8 that I figure will be in there for 30-40k, stock is a $12 apiece 100k mi. capable plug but I'd rather change a $3.5 plug three times than have to breaker-bar those plugs out at 100k.

I have a large bin full of WR7DC+ single electrode plugs at $1.95 each.
Did not know they were getting hard to find.

I also have the triple electrode NGK BP6ET GTS plugs for $3.25 each

The earlier WR8DC are $1.95 each and I have plenty of those also.

I will bow to the concensus that you check the gap before you install the plugs. If that works thats good 8>)

In my experience, fouling is a myth. Hot plugs are a bandaid for poor tuning, or oil burners!

WR6DC - two valve

WR5DC - four valve

Ken,
Have you tried 5's in your two valve yet? Once I upgarde the 81 to EZF I'm going to try dropping down to 5's.

What two valve? (I sold the '81. I'm stripping the goodies off it, and then it's going to it's new home.)

Supercharged, I think 5's would be good. Stock, I dunno. Not enough swirl?
