Default Water bridge, oil neck, water pump in a day

HOT DANG you can get a lot accomplished if te sun shines ... we had our first summer day in Seattle (no, the other one-offs don't qualify) ... and I ...

replaced the water pump and rollers and belt;
pulled the water bridge and oil filler neck

That bridge was not easy, I had to heat-bend an allen wrench and really work it against the filler. Not sure how it's gonna go back in, but I found the oil leak ...

My water pump was Porsche rebuilt and had 20k miles. Was leaking water. I think these 928 pumps are just garbage ... no matter what. Btw so's the filler neck seal

Motorsport (Utah)has good fresh rebuilt pumps no leakers. Oil fill spout look at it make sure its not warped or the new seal will leak as well. Its almost better to replace the spout with a new one thats flat

Stan, I can say with definite certainty that the pumps supplied rebuilt by Porsche Roger, International, Specialists and Motorsport are all high quality. It is the design I take issue with.

H--

If it had been me...

I would not want to waste one of the three annual sunny days working on the car. Down here in the coastal desert, we treasure the few rainy days since those are the only days we are 'forced' to work inside on car stuff. The rest of the time everybody's out driving.

Understood Bob ... but it's hard to get things done when it's miserable and wet and muddy.

dr. bob, that means we're up to quota now; we've had our share the last few...

Went for a drive this morning, as a matter of fact, now settled in for Indy.

Way to go H! I was working on my S4 yesterday too - finally. As well as doing a bunch of yard work, and driving into Seattle to pick up a dirt bike part fora buddy, and then losing my clutch in my pickup up in Northgate!

Drove home all the way - I5 to 520 to Redmond to Duvall to my mechanics shop - all without a clutch! What a ball buster.

Anyway, good to hear someone else was working away on their 928 over the long weekend. -Ed

argh.. glad someone is making progress..

still waiting for my tranny parts to come back from steve c. in NY. found a bad/super loose planetary gear while it was apart and the sun gear face looked kinda scratched up. decided to send it all to steve so he can rebuild it properly along w/the valve body/shift kit stuff.

still waiting for my 928sp rear sway bar too, before I slap it back together. it's waaay tooo easy to R&R that thing whlie the rear end is out, so it looks like I'm missing another AX next week too... grrrr...

got the Edge Racing Torque converter back though. looks fantastic, they even threw in a shirt and some stickers! I know there should be a joke in there, but I'm too hung over to figure it out right now.

guess I'll have to drive 2x as hard for the rest of the season when it's back on it's feet...

meanwhile, me go drink now
