The EASY way for that big *** bolt!
Here guys.....
Look Ma - no brains....
After going thru the Fabio - using my 8ft bar didn't take her lose.
This did........
Just a touch of the key.......
And she's off!
Just one more reason they call me crazy mike
Back to the TB party......
What if they gave a party and nobody came? Just change the belt

Note ...disable the ignition before trying this and IF the wrench slips it might fly into the radiator unless that is out of the car....

Don't try this at home.

I've done this before, except you put the wrench against the ground and press a piece of wood against the wrench. Also, you want to remove the fuel pump relay so it will just crank. I wouldn't do it with the wrench just hanging there with the radiator so close to it.

I tried this method also with the wrench well braced & a piece of plywood between the engine & radiator. Didn't work. Ended up using my floor jack handle as an extension of the breaker bar- this worked on my GT in 5th gear with no flywheel lock tool though the lock would have made it much easier as the driveline wind-up was a real pain in the ***. Removing that damn bolt is definately one of the most difficult parts of the TB/WP job.

Wow, I'm surprised that for some people the torque of the starter motor is not enough to break the bolt loose, but it is with a long bar and no flywheel lock even! Maybe your battery was not at full charge making the starter weaker?

Might try a breaker bar with the handle at the 4:00 position, place a hydraulic jack under the end of the handle then pump up the jack. Weight of the car may be enough to break the bolt free. Maybe place some plywood between the handle/jack and the rad in case something slips. Also have the car off axle stands with the wheels mounted so that when the bolt breaks free, the chassis doesn't fall to the floor! Second thought - put some wood blocks under a strong section of the frame - when the bolt breaks free, don't want the front body work bouncing down on the jack and getting damaged. Hopefully the bolt will come loose slowly vs. with a bang. This has worked for me on various seized nuts/bolts in the past. Also be sure the socket is on securely too.

With the car on a lift I just attempt a chin up on the end of a long cheater bar, my feet never leave the ground.... trying to pull up from on top the engine could be pretty hard.
