Default Ball joint
Hi all
Whilst my car was on the jack at the weekend I noticed the front nearside balljoint is very worn and could do with changing. Is this a diy job thats easy enough done?

Upper or lower balljoint? Lower balljoints are easy, if it is an early car with aluminum balljoints I suggest fixing ASAP. Upper ball joints are more involved and depending on year may require a rebuilt upper control arm.

I am in the process now of replacing the lower ball joints, among other things. And I'll tell ya, those mf'rs are a bitch to get out.
Don't even get me started on the upper a-arm bolts...

I just did the boots on mine. Lucky for me my ***** were ok. 928 motorsports has a rebuild kit. The boots were easy after I did the first one.

I've replaced the lowers and rebuilt the uppers. The uppers are a littler tricky but very do'able.

Just replaced both aluminum bj's Saturday on MY 81. It was a breeze compared to some other things I've done.
