Default Does anyone have a picture or drawing of an outside temp sensor?

I am away from my manuals, I was wondering if anyone had a picture of the stock location of the outside temp sensor. I will have my car on a hoist very soon and I wanted to install the missing outside temp senor, and I wanted to see exactly how it went on. Please help if you can. And, it is an 1983 model (if it matters).

Thanks Dave, that was the picture I was looking for. I did a "search", but couldn't find it.

The outside sensor is now installed, and I have cold a/c again. I am guessing the sensor must have fallen off about a year and a half ago when I went from cold a/c to no a/c. Finding the problem took awhile, but I have a happy ending.

When I bought my S4, it did not have the outside sensor. I bought one (used) and installed it. Since then my AC hasn't worked. Any chance the PO had wired it weird?

H2, that seems odd. I didn't see any non-stock looking wiring on my car, just missing parts. I too bought a used outside sensor (thanks 928rUS). Did you verify your used sensor is good?

H2, the connectors for the sensor can get corroded and fail to work properly - clean the pins on the sensor and the sockets on the connector - 1/16" drill is good IIRC, then check again. There is some good stuff to be found by searching. Usual result of failed sensor is AC only works on full cold, any other setting gives lots of heat. Do a search for ac failure or temp sensor - I was helped a lot by posts from Tails on this - you need to locate the terminations of the adjustment slide under the dash and measure resistance when moving the slide.
